Qustion about book

I don't know is this the perfet forum to ask this ( not forum on golobal , forum as VB.NET ) , but here is the thing. I really want to learn programming , just the problem is I don't have such a subject at school. Soo, I was wondering, can someone of you, write to me some thing you learned before you became good programmers? Like, what to learn first ,what is very important. And yes, I am bad with English, no need to tell me that xD . Here is the example how you can tell me the procces of learning:

1. Programming basics
2. Variables
3. Data types
4. ...
5...

So pleaseeee, take some time, tell me what to learn, in what order. :)
